Dental Practitioners

Principal Dr Allen Gaon B.D.S. (Lond. 1988) Dentist

Allen is married to Bernice (one of our practice Hygienists) and has 3 children, Joshua, Rachel and Jonathan. Allen qualified at Guy's Hospital in 1989 and has spent most of his professional life in Amersham.

Allen enjoys all aspects of clinical dentistry particularly cosmetic and endodontic therapies.His favourite past times are cricket, playing and watching, and has recently taken up the hobby of Latin and ballroom dancing (please don’t ask him about this, it’s not going so well!).

Dr Deepa Shah B.D.S (Dundee 2007) Dentist

Deepa graduated from the University of Dundee in 2007 and began her dental career in East Sussex where she spent one year doing a variety of general dental work. Deepa then spent a year in sunny Cairns, Australia working as a dentist in a private practice continuing to add to her experience in general dentistry.

Prior to commencing work here in Amersham Deepa spent time participating in a dental camp in a small village in Gujarat (India) – lets just say it was a challenging but interesting experience!

In her spare time Deepa enjoys travelling, going to the gym, cooking and socialising with friends.

Dr Karanjit Wilkhu B.D.S Associate

Karanjit is a graduate of King's College University Of London. She is interested in all aspects of clinical dentistry and particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry.

Karanjit loves painting and going to the theatre. She has recently taken up Yoga.

Dr Benjamin Saidel B.D.S (South Africa 1989) Dentist

Benjamin Saidel graduated from Wits University, South Africa in 1989 and then moved to the United Kingdom in 1991 where he gained experience in general practice before running his own successful dental practice in Hertfordshire. His primary interest is in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry where he excels- in providing his patients with beautiful bright and confident smiles. He has been short-listed for the Smile Awards 2010.

He is married with 2 children and enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys good food, watching football, spending time with friends, playing golf and the odd game of Sudoku.

Hygienists

Leanne Banasko E.D.H E.D.T. Dental Hygienist & Therapist

Leanne is originally from Lancashire (up North - hence the accent), but has lived near London since 2003. She is currently living in Windsor with her partner Danny. Leanne obtained a dual qualification as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist from Cardiff University in 2001.

Her hobbies include keeping fit, cinema, eating out, socialising with friends and pestering Danny to buy her a puppy! (Still waiting!).

Qi Hong R.D.H & R.D.T (Dental Hygienist)

Qi came over from mainland China in 1999. She has been working as a dental hygienist since 2007, having qualified in Leeds Dental Institute.

Qi recently became a mum, so devotes all her spare time to her beautiful daughter.

Bernice Gaon (Dental Hygienist / Smoking Cessation Councillor / Dental Health Educator)

Bernice qualified as a dental hygienist from King’s College Hospital and has been in clinical practice for 20 years.

As well as a busy mum, Bernice is also a qualified interior designer. (Have a look around the practice; I’m sure you’ll be impressed!).

Bernice’s hobbies include going to the theatre and the cinema, reading and dancing (She’s a lot better than Allen at the “quick step & the cha cha cha”!).

Practice Manager

Pia Blackman D.P.M. (Practice Manager)

Pia has worked in the field of dentistry for 22 years; spending 13 years as a dental nurse in Oxford, she then became a self employed locum dental nurse in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire before going on to complete a BTEC in dental practice management.

Pia has been the practice manager at Amersham Dental Care since it opened 6 years ago and is very proud to have maintained the British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme award for the 5th year running.

Pia is married to Ian and her hobbies are her designer cats, chickens, ducks and doves.
